Professor Chen is a tutor of PHD student. Mainly engaged in micro electromechanical system, tribology and microbiological research work in aspects of medical apparatus and instruments. He is also in charge of three national nature funds, two nature funds in Jiangsu province and one 863 MEMS major projects. Currently, he is engaged in two national science funds, one national major fundamental research program, one natural science funds in Jiangsu Province as academic leader and one doctoral funds of education ministry.
